When you finish your Introduction quests:
- In the mail, you will always receive a Gift that contains two relevant items: Letter of Commendation and Outfitting Yourself and Others.
- Use both quest items. The first can be turned in locally; remember to barter for the items you want from that NPC. "Outfitting Yourself and Others" should be turned in along with the lead-in quest to the nearest crafting facility.
Notes on using this guide:
- When you see quests, unless otherwise noted, it is always imperative to pick them up. It would bog down the length of this guide for me to say "now accept every quest you see" every time the guide leads you to an area with quests, although occasionally I do say things like that.
- Become familiar with the Coordinate system. It's very simple: the "W" value goes up the further west you move and goes down the further east you move. The "S" value goes up the further south you move and goes down as you move north. Watching these numbers below your minimap allow you to adjust your character's position until you reach a certain point, and you can mouse over different points on the area map to see their coordinates.
- You will receive class-specific and vocation-specific quests as you move around the world and level up. They are not mentioned in this guide, but try to do them as you pass through the relevant areas for efficiency. For example, there is a Guardian class quest that leads you to a fellow outside Bree's west gate, so after you get the quest-starting item in the mail, you might want to talk to him the next time you go out the west gate for another quest to kill two birds with one stone.
Tips:
- Some quests make you interact with objects in the world that are difficult to see or click on. Turn on "Floating Item Names" in UI Options so nearby quest items will have giveaway text floating over them. You can use the toggle hotkey (default: n) to turn these item names on and off.
- Turn on "Show Trivial Quest Icons on Radar" in UI Options. This will ensure you don't miss any quests you happen to have outleveled.
